Finding Neighbors Filmmaker's Edition
  • Finding Neighbors

Suffering from a midlife crisis and writer's block, a once-famed graphic novelist needs an emotional connection beyond his marriage to spark his creative fire -- and finds what he's looking for in an unlikely friendship with a gay neighbor.

  • Army of Women

We were blessed to have an extraordinarily large number of talented and creative women working in many different capacities on Finding Neighbors. We weren’t able to include all of their voices but many are here. This video is a salute to them all!

  • Finding Neighbors Animation

Also as part of our Kickstarter campaign, we created this video to show how we created the animated sequences for Finding Neighbors. Please take a look at the “behind-the-scenes” of the animation, from concept to completion! Big thanks to Barry Bruner and Una Lorenzen.

  • "Peppered Pork" with Lisa Fontanesi

Lisa is actually the star of many cooking shows. Here she creates a very playful video just for us--to be played back on Sam’s television in Finding Neighbors. It gives him the inspiration to cook this very same dish for his wife Mary.

  • Preview of A Scene

We were excited to create this video as one of the early ones in our Kickstarter campaign. For the first time, viewers got to see an actual scene from the movie. Ron had said, “Sam is a lot like me.” Here you can see how that is true, and how this scene comes from some of Ron’s real-life events.

  • Some Thoughts

The Finding Neighbors cast speaks about the making of the film, and why each of them wanted to be a part of it. Michael O’Keefe talks candidly about his career.

  • That's A Wrap!

We finished our Kickstarter campaing with this video and the message: “Man oh man, what a trip this has been! We don't know where to start, except to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for all your support, your feedback, your messages, and your LOVE!”

  • Three Years Later

Ron, Jennifer, and Judy discuss the making of Finding Neighbors from quite a different perspective; they’ve been working on the project for three years and have just returned from the film’s Austin Film Festival premiere. They share insights about their filmmaking process, and how the making of t...

  • Three Clams

This is a fun video that we put together late in our Kickstarter campaign. We made a really big push in the final two days of the campaign to get to a total of 300 backers. We wanted as many people as was possible to hear about Finding Neighbors. At the end we had 313 backers!

  • Big Girl Pants!

After our Kickstarter campaign ended, Jennifer sent our her own heartfelt video and message: “YOU have all become a part of the special energy that is Finding Neighbors, and we are still reeling from all of your goodwill! To thank you, I put together this slideshow. Take a look at what it was li...

  • Catherine Bares All

No, silly!! This is not about Catherine taking off her clothes! It’s about why she got involved in our movie and how it was so meaningful to her. As part of our Kickstarter campaign Catherine makes an appeal for people to support independent cinema—and of course, Finding Neighbors.

  • Trailer-Strand Releasing

This is the “official” trailer that we created with a lot of great input from Strand Releasing. Thanks to Eurie Chung for the editing.

  • Trailer-Filmmakers

We call this the “Filmmaker’s Trailer” because its the one that we made and circulated before Strand Releasing jumped on board. There is an interesting story behind it: we had actually completed two trailers and put both of them up and asked our supporters to vote on which one they liked best. Th...

  • Kickstarter Kickoff!

This was the video that we produced to launch our Kickstarter campaign. See Ron win an Oscar--and many other embarrassing highlights!

  • Ronit Makes Magic

Explore the working style and creative process of Ronit Kirchman, who is the composer for FINDING NEIGHBORS. Ronit describes how she works to develop a music theme, and how the various themes support the narrative.
